Everest Base Camp Short Trek – 14 days

Overview

Our Express Everest Base Camp Trek is meticulously crafted for trekking enthusiasts seeking to complete the entire journey to Everest Base Camp (EBC) on foot in the shortest time possible. Annually, countless individuals flock to Solu- Khumbu, eager to fulfil their dream of reaching the Base Camp of Mount Everest (8,849), the world’s tallest peak.

Following numerous unsuccessful attempts by trekkers worldwide, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Sherpa triumphantly achieved the first ascent on May 29, 1953. Our 14-day Short Everest Base Camp Trek is an ideal package for mountain enthusiasts. Balanced in its level of challenge, with a comfortable trekking pace and expert guides, the itinerary is thoughtfully arranged to ensure a seamless experience amidst the foothills of Mount Everest.

Beyond the iconic Everest Base Camp, notable landmarks along the route include Lukla – the gateway to the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar – the bustling trading hub, Tengboche – the monastic village, Gorakshep – the final overnight stop, and Kala Patthar – the highest point on your expedited trek, offering an unparalleled view of Mount Everest.

Route Overview
Embark on our 14-day Everest Base Camp Short Trek, commencing with a flight to Lukla, the Gateway to Everest, one day after your arrival in Kathmandu. Experience the exhilarating flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport (2,846 m), one of the world’s highest airports.

From Lukla, traverse alongside the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding before reaching the bustling Namche Bazaar, the regional business center. Jorsalle marks the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, a significant milestone on the way to Everest Base Camp (EBC). Following a night in Namche, acclimatize by hiking to Hotel Everest View (3,962.4 m), the world’s highest luxury hotel, offering subpar amenities but an exceptional view of Mt. Everest.

Continue your trek to Tengboche, the spiritual hub of the Sherpa community, featuring the serene Tengboche Monastery against the backdrop of Mt. Ama Dablam. Dingboche, the highest Sherpa village, follows, transitioning the landscape to barren terrain with decreased oxygen levels.
A second acclimatization hike up Nagarjuna Hill (5,100 m) provides panoramic views, including Mt. Makalu. Progress to Lobuche, passing the Thughla Pass (4,800 m) adorned with stone memorials for mountaineers.
Ascend from Lobuche to Gorakshep, the last overnight stop. Although lacking local settlements, teahouses accommodate trekkers. After reaching Everest Base Camp, trace your steps back to Gorakshep.
Climb Kala Patthar (5,644 m), the trek’s highest point, for an up-close view of Mt. Everest. Return to Lukla via Periche, and from there, trek back to Namche before ascending to Lukla.

Gather with fellow trekkers at Lukla for a dinner sharing anecdotes from your journey. Conclude your trek with a flight back to Kathmandu the next morning, bid farewell at Tribhuvan International Airport.
